Kissel Verdicts Blamed on Cultural Differences

What no one in Hong Kong is considering is the incredibly damaging effect making plans to kill your husband and then carrying them out can have on your psyche.

He added he will send a recommendation to the Long-term Prison Sentences Review Board on the grounds that Kissel was emotionally distressed, of good character and had been through an incredible ordeal with the loss of her children and former lifestyle.

The judge could also have mentioned that if Ms. Kessel hadn't bludgeoned her husband to death her emotional distress would have been less and she wouldn't have "lost" her children and former lifestyle. Maybe they aren't lost but just misplaced.

"My husband was a banker who read porn and was a bit of a cokehead."

I didn't follow the trial very closely but apart from Kissel's lurid account from the witness stand of what a rotter her husband was, was there a shread of evidence against him from any independent source?
One of her many complaints was that he always wanted oral sex. I hope my missus doesn't bludgeon me to death for that.

No wonder she felt a little down in the mouth.
