Indeed, but I was moved by a line I read on holiday in Wilkie Collins's Moonstone (the mother and father of long-winded books, incidentally):
"In our modern system of civilisation, celebrity is the lever that will move anything."
Now ... if only I were famous ....
It seems that Dannii's brain cell was on the right track, as X Factor winner Joe McElderry has now outed himself.
